Katy and Ben's wedding was a mesmerizing blend of tradition and celebration, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Greek Orthodox Church. The ceremony, steeped in ancient customs, was a testament to the couple's commitment to honoring cultural heritage while celebrating their love.

The Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony is rich with symbolism and ritual, beginning with the Service of Betrothal, where the couple exchanged rings. This was followed by the Crowning, the most significant part of the ceremony. The priest placed crowns, or "stefana," on Katy and Ben's heads, symbolising the glory and honor bestowed upon them by God. The crowns were linked by a ribbon, representing the unity of the couple and their shared journey through life. As the ceremony progressed, the couple took their first steps together as husband and wife in a ceremonial walk around the altar. This act signified their journey into married life, guided by the church and their faith.

Following the ceremony, the celebrations truly began. Guests were greeted with shots of ouzo which set a joyful tone for the evening. The reception was alive with the sounds of lively Greek music, and soon everyone was on their feet, partaking in traditional Greek dances. The highlight of the evening was the iconic plate smashing, a custom believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. The air was filled with laughter and cheer as plates shattered, symbolising the joyous release of energy and the beginning of Katy and Ben's new life together.
